Angelina Jolie’s latest mission, should she choose to accept it is to play a character based on real-life spy Kathi Lynn Austin.

According to Variety, Paramount Studios has secured the rights to Austin’s story - which will see an investigator explore the often dire world of arms trafficking and terrorism – and they are keen for the Girl Interrupted star to play lead.

The publication also claims that producers want to see the film initiate a Bourne Identity style franchise.

Jolie – who topped the list of Hollywood’s highest earning female celebrities - is currently filming the new Clint Eastwood drama The Changeling.
