Billie Piper has been convinced to return to Dr Who by her mother who is a huge fan of the show.

After quitting the hit TV show two years ago, Billie will reprise her award-winning role as Rose Tyler in at least three episodes of the program, according to reports.

The actress has admitted in the past that she missed playing the Time Lord's feisty side kick.

She said: "Dr Who is a big part of my life. I've missed it since I left and I love David Tennant."

She told The Mirror: "My mum is the biggest Dr Who fan ever. I feel bad about not being in this year's Christmas special with Kylie Minogue."

The Doctor will reportedly have three assistants in upcoming episodes, including Catherine Tate, Freema Agyeman and Billie.
