Nicole Kidman claims that she was misquoted in a recent magazine interview – and that she lost two babies, not one as previously reported, during her marriage to Tom Cruise.

The actress made the latest revelations in a new interview with Marie Claire magazine.

Vanity Fair reported earlier this year that Nicole suffered a miscarriage at the age of 23, and it was this tragedy that prompted her and Tom to adopt.

But Kidman claims this account is untrue and the magazine misquoted her.

She reveals, "I had a miscarriage at the end of my marriage - but I had an ectopic pregnancy at the beginning of my marriage.

“It was incredibly traumatic for me."

An ectopic pregnancy occurs when an embryo starts to develop in a fallopian tube instead of in the womb.

Vanity Fair reported this as a miscarriage, but Nicole says that the miscarriage came at the end of her marriage, shortly before Tom filed for divorce in 2001.
