Kanye West Breaks Down Onstage Over Mama

Kanye West broke down in tears while performing his song Hey Mama during a concert in Paris over the weekend.

The R'n'B star was playing his first live show following his mother, Donda West's, death from plastic surgery complications last week.

Towards the end of his hour-long performance, Kanye started to introduce Hey Mama as a tribute to Donda, beginning, "this song is for my mother..." but was unable to continue.

Le Parisien journalist Meddy Magloire said, "He said the word, 'Mother' and just couldn't go any further.

"A back-up singer, the DJ and a guitar player came over to console him. It looked like he might collapse. He just couldn't continue. He just stood there in a spotlight, crying while the band continued playing."

In a video posted on YouTube, Kanye can be seen covering his face with his hands and then bending over in anguish, almost unable to stand.

Kanye was forced to leave the stage but returned later to perform Stronger, to cheers of support from the crowd.

He is expected to return to the U.S. for Donda's funeral to be held on Tuesday in Oklahoma City.

Meanwhile, the doctor who performed surgery on Kanye’s mother before she died appeared at the Superior Court in San Pedro on Friday on unrelated charges.

A former patient was awarded $100, 000 in compensation after Dr. Jan Adams allegedly left a surgical sponge inside her body.

People reports that at one point during the follow-up hearing, Adams' cell phone rang - the smoothie's ring tone was Let's Get It On.
