Kanye West’s mother, Donda West, died following complications resulting from cosmetic surgery, it’s been confirmed.
As Entertainmentwise reported earlier today, Donda West, who was responsible for a number of her sons businesses, passed away unexpectedly in a Los Angeles hospital on Saturday (November 10th). She was 58.
Patricia Green, Donda West’s publicist, said in a statement that she died “as the result of complications from a cosmetic surgical procedure."
Green failed to give any more details about the nature of the operation or the complications that resulted from the surgery, however.
A spokesperson for the rapper has asked for “privacy during this time of grief,” reports the BBC.
West's mother often appeared alongside him at awards ceremonies and earlier this year released, ‘Raising Kanye: Life Lessons from the Mother of a Hip-Hop Star.’
