Tesco is giving us civilians a "glimpse into what Christmas with the Spice Girls might be like" by enlisting the reformed group for their festive campaign.

In the first ad, the Sporty, Scary, Baby, Posh and ginger are shown trying to buy Christmas gifts for each other without being spotted by the other girls.

A Tesco spokesperson said: "We are thrilled to be working with the Spice Girls for our Christmas campaign,"

"We feel that the new commercials really emphasise Tesco's commitment to offer something different and exciting this Christmas."

Posh put her foot in it recently when she revealed that the one thing she would miss most about leaving the UK – was shopping in Marks & Spencer.
