Winona Ryder To Play Spock's Star Trek Mum

Winona Ryder will play Mr Spock's mother in the new Star Trek prequel.

According to reports, Ryder has signed up for the new sci-fi installment as the new Amanda Grayson.

The role was previously portrayed on both the small and big screen by the recently deceased Jane Wyatt.

She won't be wearing any pointy ears though in the new JJ Abrams directed movie. Although Spock's father is a Vulcan, Grayson is human.
