Rebecca Romijn Ready To Begin Brood

Rebecca Romijn has revealed that she is desperate for Ugly Betty writers to make her character gain weight so she can have a baby.

The blonde beauty - who plays transsexual Alexis Meade in the hit US TV show - is ready to start her brood with her actor husband Jerry O'Connell and they recently had dinner with Ugly Betty producer Marco Pennette to discuss writing her pregnancy into the show.

"It could be a hysterical pregnancy" she told USA Today "There are people who want to be pregnant so badly that they put on weight in that area. 

"Or maybe Alexis could put on a tremendous amount of weight, and I'd wear a fat suit around the pregnancy."

Romijn and O'Connell met at a Las Vegas hotel three years ago and they married this summer.

Jerry has echoed his wife's desire to start a family, saying: "We're definitely working at it. It's never as easy as everybody thinks. It just isn't.

"When you're married to Rebecca, you should try to have as many children as possible. And I want to do that before she figures out that she could do a lot better than me."
