Carrie Underwood’s ex Tony Romo has been quick to rubbish rumours of a romance with Britney Spears.

The American football star reportedly enjoyed/endured a lap dance from the pop mess on a night out in Hollywood just hours after the latest hearing in her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline on Friday.

But the Dallas Cowboys quarterback insists there is no burgeoning relationship.

He says, "I think (it) sometimes goes with this position. Being the quarterback...you're at the same place with someone else and people just run with it.

It's happened a few times now, two or three times where people just say, 'You're dating whoever''...You just learn that and shake your head every once in awhile and you move on."
