Arnold Schwarzenegger has said that he doesn’t believe that marijuana should be classed as a drug.

The former actor, now governor of California, was pictured spoking pot in huis 70s bodybuilding documentary Pumping Iron.

However, he told GQ in a recent interview that: “I didn’t take any drugs.”

When it was pointed out he has previously admitted to smoking dope, he replied: “That is not a drug. It’s a leaf.”

He added: “My drug was pumping iron, trust me.”

Arnie also refused to condemn politicians who do drugs.

He said: "A politician's job is to do what's best for the people and to improve the country, the economy, the environment.

"Why should I care if a politician takes sleeping pills every night so long as he can do his job?"
