Britney Spears reunited with ex Kevin Federline at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Wednesday for her first Parenting Without Conflict session.

The former couple’s meeting marked the first of a six-week course that Spears is required fufil as part of the pair's ongoing child custody battle.

The program aims to improve its pupils parenting skills as well their communicative proficiency. 

"Instead of saying 'You're always bringing the kids home late because you're an insensitive jerk,'" Craig Ogulnick, a supervisor for the program tells People.com "We teach parents instead to say 'When you bring the kids home late, I feel like you're not valuing my time, and I feel hurt or angry as a result."

Sources close to Spears claim that the 25-year-old is taking her obligations seriously.

"She's not nervous” the insider told People.com “She's actually looking forward to it."

Spears being ordered to attend parenting classes is one of many requirements that Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon ordered the pop-star to fufil.

Sources claim that both Spears and Federline must complete three sessions of their joint co-parenting counselling together before their scheduled hearing tomorrow.

The Toxic singer is also required to undergo individual counselling “to address parenting issues."
