Rapper Foxy Brown reportedly failed to show up for her big day in court on Friday (12 October), because her hair and make-up wasn't done.

Brown, real name Inga Marchand, was scheduled to appear for an arraignment hearing at Kings County Supreme Court in New York, but refused to leave her cell at Rikers Island prison, where she's serving time for an assault.

She missed the first planned trip from the prison because she didn't look her best and then missed a second, claiming she was hungry, according to TMZ.com.

Judge John Ingram eventually gave up on Brown and adjourned the case until Tuesday (16 October), telling the rapper's lawyer, Alan Stutman, that he would issue a force order if necessary to get her in court.

Outside of court, when Stutman was asked why his client thought it was a good idea to avoid court, he simply said, "I don't know."
