Rapper TI Arrested Before Winning BET Awards

Rapper TI was unable to accept his two BET awards last night, because he’d just been arrested on firearms offences.

The nine times nominated artist won two gongs at the BET Hip-Hop gala in his home town of Atlanta, but was unable to attend the show after being arrested in a city car park on suspicion of collecting machine guns and silencers bought for him by his bodyguard.

After police reportedly found three firearms in his car, six weapons were then uncovered at the rapper’s home.

TI – real name Clifford Harris – already has a criminal record so now faces possession of firearms by a convicted felon charges.

Other BET winners included Kanye West, who also picked up two awards.
