Ted Beckham, father of footballer David, has spoken about his heart attack for the first time since he fell ill last month.

The 59 year old is now back at home in Chingford, East London and has thanked his children for their strength.

The Sun reports him as saying: “All three of my children David, Lynne and Joanne have been a tower of strength. They have helped me get through this along with the doctors and nurses. I owe a lot to all of them.”

Ted’s heart attack prompted his son to return from L.A. to stay keep vigil from his bedside, but David’s brave father urged him to go back saying he’ll be fine.

Victoria Beckham, wife of the L.A. Galaxy star is due in London to visit Ted after flying in from Paris.
