Around 40 members of staff at Palisades Medical Centre have been suspended without pay following personal information about George Clooney’s motorcycle crash being leaked to the media last month.
The Ocean’s Thirteen actor and his girlfriend Sarah Lawson was knocked off his motorcycle by a car on September 21st and staff, including doctor’s are being investigated after details of their medical conditions and records were made public.
Union spokesperson Jean Oterson who represents some of the hospital workers involved told TV channel CBS2: "It was inappropriate but they are paying a steep price. But I don't even think George Clooney would want people to pay.
"Again, the apology to him for his privacy rights (is necessary), but I think in fact the hospital is overreacting."
Clooney was treated for a rib fracture and grazes, while Larson saw doctors for two broken toes.
