Prepare yourself for a shock - Britney Spears' new album is apparently really good.

The Sun's showbiz head Victoria Newton claims to be the first journalist to hear Britney's comeback album, and she's given it a resounding thumbs-up.

She dubs the LP "hot", eulogising, "Britney is at her thumping best, with heavy-duty electro pop blending brilliantly with her distinctive vocals."

One of the couplets picked out in the album's self-efacing lyrics is the moving, "I’m successful, rich and famous, I’m Mrs Oh My God I’m Britney Shameless".
