Daniel Radcliffe Scoops 'British Oscar' ...more Harry Potter »

Daniel Radcliffe has been named Best Actor at the inagural National Movie Awards - billed as 'Britain's answer to the Oscars'.

The Harry Potter star picked up the gong last night at the glitzy ceremony after beating off competition from James Bond star Daniel Craig and Pirates Of The Caribben favourite Johnny Depp.

It was good news for his co-star Emma Watson too, she was named Best Female ahead of Keira Knightley and Dame Judi Dench, whilst Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix won Best Family Film.

  • Congrats to Dan and Emma for their wins! The only thing that threw me about this article though was Dan's picture. It's easily from the 'Chamber of Secrets' maybe POA premiere time!! I'm sure it hasn't gone unnoticed, but as 'cute' as he appears here, he's taken on a considerably more 'mature' (being 18 now and all) look these days.
