Kiefer Sutherland was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in the early hours of this morning (August 25) after police pulled the actor over in West Hollywood.

TMZ reports that the 40-year-old 24 star was found to be more than twice over the .08 legal limit when he was stopped for making an illegal U-turn.

Kiefer was booked and released on $25,000 bail.

This is the actor's second DUI in the past five years and, if convicted, he must serve a mandatory minimum of five days in jail under Californian law.

He is due in court on October 16.
