The singer filed papers in America, to get legal recognition that Angel Iris Murphy Brown � born this April � is the daughter of the comedy legend.

Murphy has denied on several occasions that he is the child�s father, despite Ms Scary Spice carrying out a DNA test that �established paternity� � this result has yet to be recognised by law, however.

In a press conference held on Tuesday, Scary Spice's lawyer Gloria Allred claimed that Murphy "has not paid one penny on child support." He continued: �He bought a big diamond ring for his new fiance�. It is nice to be generous to others, but what about his own baby?�

As the BBC reports, Ms B said: "I want her (Angel) to know that she has two parents who desire to be responsible for her during her life and who love her so much that they want to be a part of it."

Murphy�s representatives have refused to comment.
