Penelope Cruz’s Eyelashes Are Fake

A mascara commercial for L?Oreal featuring Penelope Cruz has been branded misleading because the actress was wearing fake eyelashes.

The L'Oreal ?Telescopic? mascara claimed that it could make lashes up to 60 per cent longer.However the Advertising Standards Authority has hit out saying that the commercial did not make clear that Cruz was sporting some individual fake eyelashes.

L?Oreal said it was ?common industry practice? to use artificial lashes, but said it would ?fully comply? with the requirements that the ASA have indicated for future advertising purposes.

Take our advice L?Oreal - False advertising is not worth it.

  • I've always believed that the models in ALL mascara ads are wearing false eyelashes so I can't see where they did anything new and different here. Now, though, we women can get our eyelashes cosmetically lengthened and enhanced and eliminate the need for false eyelashes altogether!

  • False eyelashes? Big deal. I just assume that everything on television is falsified, doctored up, airbrushed, etc. Anyone who believes that people really look as good as they do on such commercials is a fool.

  • I don't get what the big deal is about using fake eyelashes. People use them all the time. I think people should know by now that mostly everything on the television especially on advertising commercials is mostly fake to enhance things and make them look better then they are.
