Westlife are planning to release their new album on the same day as the Spice Girls� comeback.

The Irish quartet want to reignite their own rivalry with the girls to create as much hype as possible around their own release.

A source tells The People, �They've pencilled in a release date for later this year but will move it depending on what the girls do.

"They think it will be a good marketing ploy to recreate the great battle of 2000 and are sure they will get the Number One spot."

Not really the Rolling Stones vs. The Beatles or Blur vs. Oasis, is it?
