Horror geeks rejoice!

Following the reinvention of everything 80s (reforming bands, Transformers, Mr. T in a tank), comes news that one of the great director/actor duos of the 80s are set to reunite.

John Carpenter and Kurt Russell are to pair up for a movie called LA Gothic, which allegedly features vampires, priests and zombie rock stars!

In the mid-80s, Carpenter was the man for high-concept action-horror movies, particularly if they starred Kurt Russell.

The pair made Escape From New York, Big Trouble in Little China and The Thing in that decade - all of which are now cult classics.

Both mens careers died down during the late 90s/early 00s, but Russell in particular has enjoyed a resurgence thanks to castings in Grindhouse and Poseidon.

Now an unnamed source, working as an intern at a studio, has told aintitcool.com that the pair is set to make a new movie together:

It's called LA Gothic and the script has various chapters but they all revolve around a Preist and his Teen-age daughter and that there are a ton of creatures in it. It's supposed to have vampires, zombies and a demon-possessed rock-star.

He said it all takes place in LA over a couple of days and that it's vintage Carpenter tons of gore and action.

Carpenter hasnt made a film in over 6 years, since 2001 Ghosts of Mars.

The last film he and Russell made together was 1996s ill-advised Escape From L.A.
