Daniel Craig has told interviewers that some of the famous humour that is synonymous with the Bond franchise will return for the 22nd film, due out 2008.
The actor revealed that it was pressure from Eon productions that has brought about the change after the rather sober feel of last year?s ?Casino Royale?.
?They (Eon) just want more gags? Craig told Interview Magazine. ?The next one's going to be a lot funnier. Octopussy and Pussy Galore style gags?.
Whilst ?Casino Royale? did have the odd quip, it was certainly a lot more serious than the franchise is known for, with the Roger Moore years best known for double entendres and cheeky humour.
There are concerns from both camps- the producers worry that if you take Bond in too serious a direction, you end up with something like ?On Her Majesty?s Secret Service? (one of the series? biggest failures).
But Internet commentators point out that the cheesy humour was one of the reasons the franchise needed ?rebooting? in the first place.
Both camps will have to wait until 2008 to see just what Craig means by ?a lot funnier?...
