Actor Kevin Spacey will revisit the role of Lex Luthor in the next installment in the Superman film franchise.

After meeting with director Bryan Singer, Spacey agreed to reprise the villainous role he played in last year's global hit Superman Returns, acording to Variety.

Spacey, currently artistic director of London's Old Vic theatre, denied that he intends to quit film acting altogether.

"I love movies and will continue to make movies when I can," he said. "My priorities have changed. Theatre is the number one thing in my life."

Superman: Man of Steel is due to be released in 2009.
