Doctor Who star David Tenant is said to be in talks with the Royal Shakespeare Company to play Hamlet.

The actor has already appeared in six RSC productions but now wants to take the ultimate role of the Great Dane.

However, both parties are apparently trying to thrash out a rehearsal schedule which doesn?t clash with Tennant?s filming commitments for the fourth series of Doctor Who.
