Springfield came to Leicester Square this week as Simpsons creator Matt Groening made a fleeting visit with a short extract from The Simpsons Movie.
He was here at the end of a long day spent promoting the long awaited film, which will be hitting big screens across the country later this month, after starting his days promotion on the BBC morning news.
Its hard to imagine a film that more audience members are willing to be amazing.
Theres a lot of emotional investment and anticipation for this film from around the world as weve now shared Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggies lives for twenty years!
The West End Odeon held the moment of truth as journalists were treated to a ten-minute sneak peek of the animated familys capers on the silver screen.
No one was disappointed. Bursts of laughter gushed from all corners of the auditorium as the familiar family proved easily that they could make the transition to movie stardom.
If the entire film is anything like the ten minutes we saw, then it is going to be a hilarious, fun-filled couple of hours.
Nudity, rock bands, extra-special guest stars, the environment, a life-changing admission from a minor favourite, intelligent jibes at their US network Fox, slapstick, word-play, homage and all the things they cant show on TV The Simpsons Movie is going to take this television classic to a whole new level.
Woo hoo!
