Does the son of former Vice President Al Gore have an inconvinient excuse for being charged with speeding offences and drug possession? We think not.

Albert Gore III was pulled over after driving 100 miles per hour on a highway in California. Officers then detected a �strong odour of marijuana�. After searching him they found marijuana in his possession, along with prescription drugs Vicodin, Valium, Xanax, Addeall and an amphetamine used to treat attention deficit disorder.

�He did not have a prescription for any of it,� said Jim Amormino, a spokesman for the sheriff�s department.

At least he was driving an environmentally friendly car.
