Isaiah Washington tells Larry King that Patrick Dempsey was the cause for his on-set tantrum that ended with the homophobic slur heard round the world.

Washington claims that Dempseys second late arrival to the set caused him to erupt in anger at his co-star, leading him to say A lot of things Im not really proud of.

An attempt to reprimand Dempsey for tardiness turned into a full altercation when Dempsey insisted they push the shoot even later to wait on Ellen Pompeo, who plays the shows namesake.

Washington says that Dempsey went off on him first, which caused him to shout back, Theres no way youre going to treat me like the B-word, the P-word, or the F-word.

The former Dr. Burke claims the "F-word" in this instance meant weakness rather than anti-gay, and was never in any way directed towards gay co-star T.R. Knight.

Washington thinks Knight used the situation as an excuse to gain more money and career opportunities.

As for repeating the slur at the Golden Globes, Washington admits that was wrong and said I wish I could take that back. I am not homophobic in no way, shape or form."

Greys Anatomy producers Dempsey, and Knight all refused to comment on the situation according to Larry King.
