The BBC have escaped prosecution over Richard Hammonds near fatal Top Gear car crash.
The Health and Safety Executive yesterday found a blistered tyre caused the 300mph horror-crash, which left the popular presenter with brain damage.
The tyre was damaged during a penultimate run of the jet-powered car, which then exploded on the final run.
The report says, A blister was visible in the tyre's outer side but this appears to have subsided and was not apparent immediately before the final run commenced."
Whilst the BBC will not be prosecuted over the accident, they found fault in the networks risk assessments and highlighted, wider issues for the broadcast industry about the preparation and training of presenters" according to the Mirror.
However, Hammond commented, I am delighted. It was just an accident. I didn't cause it, neither did the team."
