Samuel L. Jackson is reportedly up for the part of Nick Fury in the 2008 blockbuster �Iron Man�.
The film is already boasting a stellar line-up with Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges and Terence Howard joining Robert Downey Jr in the title lead.
Nick Fury is the director of an organisation called S.H.I.E.L.D. which, in certain interpretations of Marvel comic books, acts as a kind of Police for superheroes, liaising between them and governments.
In one interpretation of the comics (the �Ultimate� series for those in the know), Fury bears a strong resemblance to Jackson but with the addition of an eye patch.
Nothing is confirmed but expect an announcement soon as director Jon Favreau races to meet the deadline of next summer.
