Martin Scorsese and Robert De Niro, who between them have made some of the most famous and well-loved films in history (Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver, Casino), are set to unite again for another mob-based crime drama called �Frankie Machine�.

Scorsese is big news again thanks to his success with The Departed, and fans are crying out for De Niro to return to familiar territory after some departures into comedy and horror.

The new film features DeNiro as a retired hitman (Frankie Machine) who is drawn back into the world of crime.

The film, the director/actor�s ninth collaboration together, is set for pre-production soon.
