New Michael Moore Film Leaked

US movie-goers are facing a difficult decision in the lead up to the release of the new Michael Moore documentary Sicko. Whilst the movie is due out next week, pirate versions of the film have been found all over peer-to-peer file sharing programs, making the film easy to download for free (albeit illegally- which is obviously wrong).

The Weinstein Company, already reeling from the failure of their other big 2007 release Grindhouse, now face a seemingly impossible task of convincing people to pay money to see something they can download for free?

Director Eli Roth is already condemning piracy on his MySpace page, as his new film Hostel Part II was hurt, in his words, by a print that got released as a pirate on the black market. The director wrote while it makes a smaller dent in huge movies like Spider-Man 3, it really hurts films like mine, which have far less of an advertising and production budget.

Time will tell as to whether Moores new film will be affected by the leak. US viewers can go the legal route by seeing the film in cinemas on 29th June.
