Wayne Rooney proved the soccer close season is his busiest period by attending a hatrick of footballing weddings this weekend.

The Manchester United player kicked off with his England captain John Terry�s marriage on Friday before travelling by helicopter from Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire back up north for his club captain Gary Neville�s nuptials in Manchester.

Today Rooney and his fiancee Coleen McLoughlin travel to Leicestershire for his another teammate, Michael Carrick�s post-wedding barbeque.

Amazingly, despite Wayne�s efforts he still managed to miss out on his fellow Liverpudlian Steven Gerrard�s wedding to Alex Curran yesterday.

Rooney tells The People, �All these weddings happen in the middle of June. If you are a professional footballer your wedding has to be slotted into the close season - there's no choice.
"We couldn't manage to go to all of them sowe decided to go to Gary's. Got to keep in with our captain."
