Sir Elton John Plays To 200,000 For Aids Concert

Sir Elton John attracted a crowd of 200,000 for his HIV-Aids awareness concert in Kiev yesterday.

President Viktor Yushchenko, former leader Leonid Kuchma, Russian envoy Viktor Chernomyrdin and several other politicians were amongst the massive crowd in the city�s Independence Square.

Elton told them from stage, �I am here to support you all against AIDS.�

According to the country�s Anti-Aids Foundation the disease is a massive problem in Ukraine, with a new case every 10 minutes, but the illness � and homosexuality - is still a taboo subject.
