Oprah Winfrey is the world's most powerful celebrity, according to business magazine Forbes� annual list.

The chat show host beat golfer Tiger Woods into the second spot, with Madonna in third place in the influential list that takes into account celebrities' earnings, internet presence and press, TV and radio coverage.

The top Brits were the Rolling Stones who came in at four and Elton John, whose recent tour saw him take eighth place.

Surprisingly, considering their jail/head-shaving exploits, tabloid favourites Paris Hilton and Britney Spears have dropped out of the top 100 all together.
