Jim Carrey is mulling playing a gay convict for a new film called �I love you Phillip Morris�, from the writers of controversial comedy �Bad Santa�.

It�s been four years since Carrey has done an all-out comedy (�Bruce Almighty�), and the star is considering taking a pay cut to act in the film, which has a budget of less than $20million in total (Carrey�s usual asking price).

The comedy, based on a true story, surrounds a married father who, once imprisoned, falls in love with his male cellmate. Once the cellmate is freed, he makes several attempts to break out of prison to be with him.

Carrey is mulling the project as part of a back-to-back schedule with Tim Burton�s forthcoming movie �Believe it or not!�.
