Rolling Stone Keith Richards has shown his age by criticising hip-hop, saying it leaves him ?cold?.

The veteran rocker says he completely fails to understand the appeal of the genre, despite its massive popularity.

He explains to Rolling Stone magazine, ?Hip-hop leaves me cold. But there are some people out there who think it's the meaning of life.

?I don't wanna be yelled at; I wanna be sung to. I never really understood why someone would want to have some gangster from L.A. poking his fingers in your face.

?As I say, it don't grab me. I mean the rhythms are boring; they're all done on computers."

Mr. Richards has got it right; people are afraid to call rap the repetitious rubbish that it is because they don't want to appear unhip or god forbid...politically incorrect !

Forget what he says, its just amazing Keith has enough neurons left to fire off complete sentences. There are thousands of people in mental hospitals who have done 1/10 the chemicals Keith has. And rap sucks. Its dumb music for dumb kids who grow up to be dumb adults. And its a genre recycling ideas. And it sucks. Did I say that already?

I think it's the most sensical thing I have ever heard uttered from Keith Richards (but yes, it's amazing he had such a lucid moment, sounds almost well thought out). "Shown his age?" I'm almost half his age and I agree with him wholeheartedly.

Keith Richards is right, who wants gangsters yelling at them? They bop around with all their bling and their rhymes of hate. I really wouldn't call it music. It's a way of preaching. And, I guess, since I'm not a gansta want-to-be I don't like the message. The worst thing about it though is how loud people listen to it in their cars – It’s a wonder they don’t go deaf because the noise dominates the area and everyone is forced to listen to their rap crap.
