Coldplay bassist Guy Berryman has split from his childhood sweetheart wife Joanna just six months after the birth of their first child.

The couple are said to be �absolutely devastated� after Guy moved out from the family home, although both parties are said to be determined to keep matters amicable.

A source tells the Mirror, �They are both absolutely devastated but the relationship has been on the rocks for a while.

�They were delighted when Joanna fell pregnant last year and hoped that a new baby might help them work things out, but at the moment it looks like it's not to be.

"Guy's moved out of their house for the time being but has stayed close so he can see as much as possible of baby Nico.

"As far as splits go, it's all been pretty amicable but any divorce is nasty and it's obviously devastating for them both."

A Coldplay spokesman commented, "I can confirm that Guy Berryman and his wife Jo have separated. The decision was amicable."
