‘28 Weeks Later’ Press Conference Held In London

London�s Soho Square was the location for the press conference held to promote �28 Weeks Later�, the sequel to the popular movie �28 Days Later�.

Director of the original movie Danny Boyle has this time passed the crown onto Juan Carlos Fresnadillo who had not previously made any English language movies.

The �Intacto� director says: �It was because I am not a Londoner, I am not English. In the first film, London is a big character. There�s something that comes out of the landscape, and you need to know the city to be able to do that. I�ve only been here as a tourist, so it was a big dilemma.�

This story focuses on the aftermath of the deadly virus 28 weeks after it first emerged. Although it seems as though the disease has been contained, it arises again to strike havoc.

Robert Carlyle who appeared in the original and returns again for the second outing has great admiration for Fresnadillo: �The first thing that Juan Carlos said was �I really feel for the infected�. Of all the things he could�ve said about the script, it was extraordinary! That really stuck with me. He understands that this piece contains real human feelings, it�s not just about the gore- although there is a lot of that! It is character driven, and that�s what I think makes it work, that you feel for these people�.
