Media Banned From Basinger-Baldwin Court Hearing

We can?t be tell you what happened in Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin?s court hearing on Friday ? because the judge has banned the media from it.

But Superior Court Commissioner Maren Nelson has good reason to, citing "the well-being of the child" after Alec Baldwin?s answer-phone rant at his 11-year-old daughter Ireland became headline news last month.

A tape of the actor yelling that Ireland was a ?thoughtless pig? was repeatedly played by the media after it mysteriously appeared on a website, throwing the divorced couple?s custody battle over their child into sharper focus.

However, Alec wasn?t trusting any media ban himself ? he refused to attend the hearing in person, saying he feared ?his comments would be leaked to the media?.

It was therefore Basinger who claimed victory after the secret hearing, with her lawyer Neal Hersh telling the media, ?We are very, very pleased with the judge's thoughtful decision about what happened here today.?

Whatever that descision was.
