We can�t be tell you what happened in Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin�s court hearing on Friday � because the judge has banned the media from it.
But Superior Court Commissioner Maren Nelson has good reason to, citing "the well-being of the child" after Alec Baldwin�s answer-phone rant at his 11-year-old daughter Ireland became headline news last month.
A tape of the actor yelling that Ireland was a �thoughtless pig� was repeatedly played by the media after it mysteriously appeared on a website, throwing the divorced couple�s custody battle over their child into sharper focus.
However, Alec wasn�t trusting any media ban himself � he refused to attend the hearing in person, saying he feared �his comments would be leaked to the media�.
It was therefore Basinger who claimed victory after the secret hearing, with her lawyer Neal Hersh telling the media, �We are very, very pleased with the judge's thoughtful decision about what happened here today.�
Whatever that descision was.
