Jennifer Love Hewitt Sued By Former Management

Actress accused of listening to 'tortuous whispers' of new manager

Jennifer Love Hewitt is being sued by her former management company over unpaid commissions for her current series ?The Ghost Whisperer? and other work.

According to Hollywood Reporter ESQ, the lawsuit filed on behalf of Handprint Entertainment claims that the actress entered into an oral agreement with Handprint in 2002 that called for Love Hewitt to pay 10% in commissions for money earned from deals completed or "substantially" negotiated during Handprint's tenure as her manager, even if Handprint no longer worked with the actress.

They say the actress reneged on this contract by failing to pay commissions totaling $350,000.

In a cheeky reference to her moderately successful TV show, ?The Ghost Whisperer?, in which her character communicates with the dead, the complaint accuses Love Hewitt of "having troubles resolving unfinished business with the living" and "listening to the tortuous whispers of her new manager."

It also claims the star of hit film ?I Know What You Did Last Summer,? ?knows what she did last season.?

Love Hewitt's attorney said that "the lawsuit is totally without merit" but declined to comment further on the action.
