George Bush Makes Appearance On American Idol

But thankfully doesn't sing...

May 2 2007

Share

American president George Bush found time in his busy schedule to make a taped appearance on last night's episode of American Idol, and thanked viewers for their donations.

He and his wife Laura were acknowledging the $70million raised by viewers, who voted during last week's charity special.

George Bush said the money raised for impoverished children in Africa and the United States showed "the good heart of America".

He then asked if he should sing, but Laura reminded him of his recent exploits with a West African dancing troupe (if you haven't seen the footage yet seek it out, it's hilarious)

The show itself had a Bon Jovi theme, with Jon Bon Jovi himself present to witness his finest creations (note: sarcasm) being mauled by the bunch of wannabe popstars.

Tonight things will get very dramatic as TWO contestants will be eliminated...

Poll  Who Should Be Voted Off Tonight?

Blake Lewis

Jordin Sparks

LaKisha Jones

Chris Richardson

Melinda Doolittle

Phil Stacey

  • Bush should not have appeared on American Idol. It is as though he is taking credit for the funds raised by American Idol and its views. In fact, Bush should keep his stupid face off of the television altogether and make radio speeches only, which we can easily ignore. Bush is not someone Americans are proud of - he is a disgrace to his title and his nation.

  • I've watched American Idol for the last 4 seasons because it's a fun, entertaining show. The charity show for poor people in America & Africa was a bit of a turn off to me. It was good intentioned, but I tune in to watch a singing contest, not a charity telethon or a depressing infomercial. When the image of George Bush burst on the t.v. screen during the show last Tuesday, it was just the last straw. It disgusted me so much, I don't care who wins this season, I'm not tuning in anymore.

  • I am horrified and sickened by his appearance. I am done with American Idol. Let's not forget that it is Bush's buddy Murdock, a fellow conservative who is not even American, who owns Fox and managed to get Bush on TV. Criminals, both of them. RF
