US TV show The View looks set to stay in the headlines if reports that comedienne Roseanne Barr will replace the departing Rosie O�Donnell are to be believed.
Joan Rivers, Whoopi Goldberg, Kathie Lee Gifford, and Connie Chung are in the running for the coveted job but Barr has emerged as the candidate to beat, according to the New York Post.
Rosie�s run as co-host has seen her regularly hitting the headlines with her outspoken views and on-going war of words with Donald Trump.
The show has also been plagued with rumours that Rosie did not get along with her fellow hosts.
With Rosie leaving, says an ABC source, "they're missing strong personalities, and that's what they're going to need if they want to keep it going.�
Roseanne is no stranger to controversy herself. Just last month she was forced to issue an apology following an apparently anti-gay outburst on her blog.
