Jade Goody has angrily denied making up evidence about an alleged nightclub attack on a black man to prove that she wasn't a bigot.

The disgraced Big Brother star was a witness to the altercation in a Herts nightclub, in which Jerome Simeon was reportedly attacked with a bottle by hairdresser Zoe Hailstone.

Jade told jurors that she saw Zoe shout "fucking n****rs" during the fight, reports today's Mirror.

But the defendant's lawyer accused Jade of making up the evidence to paint herself in a better light.

"My suggestion is you lied. It was at a time when you could have done with a bit of public sympathy" the lawyer, Bill Emlyn Jones said.

"This happened over a year ago. I witnessed something and that's why I'm here, because I've got morals" Jade replied.

For once she has a point.
