The co-creator of cult BBC show Life On Mars has revealed what happened in the last ever episode � confirming priotagonist Sam Tyler died.
The last ever episode saw Sam Tyler seemingly recover from his coma and return to present day Manchester. After failing to settle back home, he jumps off the top of a tower block and returns to 1973.
After screening the episode, viewers were left wondering whether Sam had returned to a coma, or had in fact died, however Matthew Graham told the Daily Mirror: �What I was trying to say is that he's died, and that for however long that last second of life is going to be, it will stretch out for an age, as an eternity for Sam. When he drives off in that car, he's really driving off into the afterlife."
Tyler�s co-star Gene Hunt will return in 80s spin-off series Ashes to Ashes next year (2008).
