Kate Middleton has shrugged off her split from Prince William by partying into the early hours on a girly night out.

The 25-year-old went out to let her hair down with some girl friends in London, with them eventually jumping into a taxi home at 2.30am.

However, it has been revealed that she and the Prince have been in contact over the phone this week after William sought to reassure Kate over media reports following their split.

A source tells The Sun, �They remain very, very close. Some of the things said about Kate�s mum were very hurtful and wide of the mark.

"The couple may have split up, but they have been so close for so long that they�re not just going to cut all contact.�
