Liz Hurley And Arun Nayar Family Fall Out

Over 'fairytale' wedding...

Sunday 08th Apr 2007

Weddings are usually stressful occasions and Liz Hurley?s one has proved no different ? it?s driven a wedge between her and her groom?s parents.

Arun Nayar?s father Vinod and his second wife Joanne have spectacularly fallen out over their treatment at the couple?s ?fairytale? wedding in India last month.

Vinod and his wife claim they and their fellow Indian guests were treated disrespectfully at the nuptials as the happy couple sought to preserve their mega-picture deal with Hello! Magazine.

Vinod tells the Sunday Mirror, ?My wife Joanne and I feel we were publicly humiliated and treated like social outcasts for the sake of a Hello! magazine deal. Liz and Arun have treated us very shabbily. My heart is heavy with pain.

?I knew she was very ambitious, but I never realised just how important fame and attention is to her. We were pushed into the background like poor relations. This has broken my heart."

Vinod is so upset at the ?blatant and cynical commercialism? of the event he has decided to sever all contact with the newly weds.

He says, ?I have decided to cut all ties. I don't wish ill to them, but I feel that Liz and Arun behaved shamefully and placed more importance on showing off than their own family.?

Poll  Is Liz obsessed with fame over family?

Yes, she loves it

No, her father-in-law's just bitter

  • At a traditional Indian wedding the groom's parents would not be pushed to the back like distant relatives. And Liz should stop claiming that she had an authentic Indian wedding. She did the whole god damn thing for publicity. I don't blame her father-in-law for being pissed off. He should have seen this coming though when he saw the guest list and she ordered the elephants.

  • Now with a family fall out, I predict that Liz and Aruns marriage is doomed. She only married Arun for him money

  • She is forgetting that when you marry you marry the family, not just the groom. She should've gone on with the live in. She hot though.

  • Cate I couldn't agree more. Liz is not what I would call a class act. Arun has allowed a fly by night serial dater to loose sight of his common-sense, family decency and his honor. I guess thinking with the wrong head does that to oneself. You burned a major bridge with your family. When she dumps you on the side of the road after the luster wears off with the media. She will need another fix to keep herself in the limelight. Can you say divorce? Arun You Moron.....
