Britney Spears was caught up in a gunpoint drama at a church in Bel Air over the weekend, when a photographer broke a cordon to try and get a closer shot of the star.

Britney was just leaving the church when a paparazzo followed, dodging a police-enforced line.

The photographer's actions were enough to cause one of the church's guards to pull a gun on the, by now, terrified snapper.

"One guy tried to get past and two guards ran into the street. One whipped out a gun. He was shouting 'Get out of your car!' The snapper looked so scared" a witness told The Mirror.

Police accused the man of trying to run down one of the police officers. Britney however was shielded from all the action.
