Howard Stern, Anna Nicole Smith's boyfriend at the time of her tragic death from a drugs overdose, has insisted that the former model would still have been alive today had she sought medical help.
In a statement released late on Monday, Stern has insisted that he and other friends urged Nicole Smith to get help after her temperature spiked. But she refused, citing the attendant "media frenzy" for why she wanted to stay in bed and sleep off the illness.
"Anna called the shots in Anna's life and everyone close to her knows that" Stern said in the statement.
Earlier on Monday Dr Joshua Perper, while announcing the cause of death, stated that Anna Nicole should have been in hospital at the time of her death.
